Welcoming our visitors from Tanzania

Yesterday we were proud to welcome Canon Arthur and his secretary Melina from Mara, Tanzania, to our school.

For the last 3 years we have had a link with Buhemba Primary School in Tanzania, as well as with Normanton All Saints Infant School who also have a link with Buhemba. Together, we have been able to learn from each other and yesterday both schools had the privilege of welcoming Canon Arthur and his secretary Melina to Darrington for a special celebratory afternoon in our church and then into school for a service in the hall.

Arthur and Melina have come to England and are spending the next couple of weeks travelling around parishes and schools within the Diocese of Leeds. Our children were delighted to host our special visitors and it was such a lovely afternoon!

All our children did us proud, but in particular, our DCWC, choir, playground HEROES and Team Eagle with their African drumming performance were wonderful ambassadors of our school. Thank you to everyone for their hard work to make the afternoon very special. Mrs Ranby and Mrs Fletcher, our chair of governors, were very proud of our school!
