SEND

Special Educational Needs

Intent Statement

At Darrington Primary, we want our SEND children to grow in confidence and understanding. We want them to have skills to access the curriculum and begin to develop their independence. We believe in the inclusive nature of our school and support all of our pupils to achieve their potential.

Our staff are continuously striving to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and dignity. Each person will be given fair and equal opportunities to develop their full potential regardless of their gender, ethnicity, culture, religious background, sexuality, disability or special educational needs. The school actively promotes and fosters positive attitudes and will ensure equality and fairness are embedded in all aspects of school life.

As part of our Christian ethos in school, we strongly believe that it is a privilege to find and nurture the growth of each child. Therefore, all pupils have daily access to well-planned and differentiated work that provides opportunities to challenge, extend and support every child’s learning.
