We follow guidance from the Health Protection Agency in relation to infection control in schools, for all illnesses or infections.  Full details are available here https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/health-protection-in-schools-and-other-childcare-facilities  or at the school office, however, some of the more frequent illnesses and exclusion periods from school are listed below:

Sickness and Diarrhoea -  48 hours after the last episode of either diarrhoea or vomiting.

Chicken Pox - Five days from the onset of the rash.

Scarlet Fever - 24 hours from commencement of antibiotics.

Children who require antibiotics are welcome to return to school once they feel well enough to do so.  We will administer the remaining antibiotics if these are prescribed four times per day and parents will need to call into the school office to complete a form giving permission.

We will not administer antibiotics or other medications that are three times per day. This is because a dose can be given as soon as a child is collected from school mid-afternoon.
